We offer snorkeling at Japanese TanksJapanese World War II tanks are sitting upright on the sandy seabed in only 4 meters next to limestone cliff. The tanks are only few meters apart and there is the remains of landing barge nearby suggesting that the tanks were "sunk " during their unloading. Possibly, both were lost during an unsuccessful unloading operation. Or, both were deliberately dumped at the end of the Pacific War to prevent them from being captured by the Allies.
The tanks are in excellent condition considering their 50 years of immersion , although the guns are missing.
Discovered in the early 1990's by the MV Manta, as well as the remains of a landing barge.
